Fouquette Spells Ethics, Nurturing and Jambalaya
AIR Member Profile

Chatting briefly with Floyd Fouquette, apart from the intrigue of his exotic surname that conjures images of Mardi Gras and Jambalaya, reveals recurring themes like ETHICS and NURTURING. To this Floyd overlays AMBITION and AGILITY.

These are the central underpinnings of Fouquette Commercial Real Estate Services (FCRES), the full-service real estate company Floyd founded in 1997 which is based in West Los Angeles near Culver City. FCRES, with seven salespeople and support staff, provides a wide range of integrated services to property owners, real estate users and investors, including real estate brokerage, restaurant brokerage and consulting, property/asset management, and development/redevelopment. This takes the firm well beyond "boutique" status, according to Floyd.

"Integrity and honesty with our clients is a huge value for us, along with hands-on, effective representation. Concurrent with this is a commitment to nurturing the careers of our agents," adds Floyd.

Entering the real estate business in 1988 in property management at Kornwasser & Friedman in Los Angeles, Floyd shortly thereafter launched his brokerage career at Tower Properties in Santa Monica in industrial sales and leasing. He became an AIR member in 1993.

Today, he terms FCRES "a developing company" planning to add about a half dozen marketing professionals in the next 12-18 months. The company blankets an area from Marina del Rey to Hollywood, says Floyd, and has practical knowledge and experience in other regional markets such as San Diego, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

Among his recent transactions are his representation of Hollywood Party Rentals in the lease of 26,000 sq. ft. of industrial space in Hawthorne, representation of DC Production Corporation in leasing 16,000 sq. ft., also in Culver City, and representation of a leading architectural firm in its purchase of a 22,000 sq. ft. parcel of land in Culver City's Redevelopment area for construction of a 24,000 sq. ft. mixed-use live/work/loft complex.

A graduate of USC with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Economics and Real Estate, Floyd and Karina, his wife of 9 months, enjoy traveling because, as he says, they're drawn by "different cultures, food, history and architecture."
